Pokemon Karuta Game Boxes

As Pokémon grew in popularity in the 90s the retail products they could market Pokémon with began to expand! Karuta Cards for Kids are a way to help children in Japan learn Hiragana. Each card is one of a pair the first features a Pokemon and a hiragana character, the second has a phrase/sentence that matches up to the first card. 

The cards are made of thick cardboard and packaged in a card box featuring Pokemon from the set. 
There are several different boxes for each era of Pokemon. Below we have photographed some of the boxes we have purchased and their contents!
